• Educate the community and local leaders as to the No Kill Equation and how other progressive communities and leaders have already implemented and proved its success in over 300 communities throughout the United States.

Smith County Pets Alive foresees a time when spay/neuter efforts, community outreach and education, along with adoption and rescue programs will eliminate the euthanasia of companion animals to create a No Kill Community.

The following highlights a few of the most important steps we plan to take.

  • Educate and bring a greater awareness of animal welfare issues to the general public.

We are a grassroots humane, non profit 501c3 organization. We are dedicated to building a no kill community by ending the killing of lost and homeless pets through the use of proven, cost effective methods that have already ended shelter killing in over 300 communities throughout the United States.

Smith County Pets Alive promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care.  We have an unwavering conviction to honor the fact that each and every animal is an innocent, living breathing soul that deserves a chance at life, love, and a family.

Mission:

How we will accomplish no kill:

our vision:

We envision our fellow citizens as well as local officials coming together to build a No Kill Community.  We believe that as our community becomes aware of our current situation and learns that a progressive humane sheltering mentality is the only right choice and moral imperative they will not settle for less.

Who we are:

The mission of Smith County Texas Pets Alive Inc. is to compel local leaders with community involvement and participation  to Adopt a No Kill Commitment at both City and County Shelters.
  • Demonstrate and teach innovative and progressive approaches to animal welfare that not only enhances the lives of companion animals in our community, but also brings a greater awareness of animal welfare issues to the general public.
  • Educate the community and local leaders as to the definition of No Kill and committing to continuing to achieve a 90% no kill rate or higher.
